Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 July 2026
This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
The short version: we keep your name, your email address and your answers. We use them to produce your report and to send it to you. We do not sell them to anyone, ever.
1. Who is responsible
Robot Ready, Themistokli Dervi 48, Centennial Building, 2nd floor, office 404, Nicosia 1066, Cyprus, is the data controller for the personal data described here.
For anything in this policy, write to support@areyourobotready.org.
2. What we collect
We collect four things, and nothing else:
- Your answers — which option you chose for each of the twenty-five questions, and when. This is the assessment itself.
- Your identity — first name, last name, email address. You give these before payment so we can name your certificate and deliver your report.
- Your purchase — which product, the amount, the currency, the payment reference from Stripe, and whether it succeeded. We never see or store your card number.
- Basic technical data — the date and time of your session, and the technical information any web server records in order to work.
3. About your answers
Your answers are not sensitive data in the legal sense: they are not health data, political opinions, religious beliefs or anything else in that category, and we do not ask for those.
They are still personal, and they are more revealing than a click. We treat them accordingly: they are stored to produce your report, they are never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with anyone who could link them back to you.
We may use answers in aggregate — counted across many people, with no name or email attached — to see how questions behave and improve the assessment. Nothing in that work can identify you.
4. Why we use it, and on what legal basis
Under the GDPR, every use of personal data needs a lawful basis. Ours are:
- To run the assessment, produce your report and deliver it — because it is necessary to perform the contract you entered into with us.
- To take payment and keep accounting records — contract, and our legal obligation to retain invoices.
- To send you marketing email — only with your consent, which you give by ticking an unticked box, and which you can withdraw at any time.
- To keep the service secure and to improve the assessment — our legitimate interest in running a working, honest product, balanced against your rights.
5. Who else sees it
We use a small number of processors. They act on our instructions and cannot use your data for their own purposes:
| Who | What for | What they get | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payment processing | Name, email, card details (which we never see), amount | United States and European Union Standard Contractual Clauses |
| Brevo | Sending transactional and, with your consent, marketing emails | Name, email address | European Union None required |
| Infomaniak | Hosting of the application and the database | All service data | Switzerland European Commission adequacy decision |
6. How long we keep it
Your report stays available for at least twelve months after purchase, because you paid for something you should be able to return to.
Answers and account data are kept for three years after your last activity, then deleted or anonymised.
Invoices and payment records are kept for ten years, because accounting law requires it. We cannot delete those earlier, even at your request.
If you never complete the assessment, we delete the session after ninety days.
7. Where it is stored
Your data is stored in Europe. Stripe, our payment processor, also operates in the United States; those transfers are covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to: give you a copy of your data; correct it; delete it; restrict how we use it; send it to you or someone else in a portable format; or object to a use based on our legitimate interest. You can withdraw consent to marketing at any time, which does not affect what came before.
We offer these rights to everyone, wherever you live, because building two standards would be worse than pointless.
Write to support@areyourobotready.org. We answer within one month. There is no charge.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority. In France that is the CNIL (www.cnil.fr). We would rather you told us first.
9. We do not sell your data
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. That is true today and it is a commitment, not a description we intend to quietly revise.
If it ever changed, we would tell you before it took effect and you would be able to object.
10. Cookies
We use the minimum needed to make the service work: a cookie that keeps your session so you can leave and come back, and the cookies Stripe sets to process payment and detect fraud. These are strictly necessary and do not require consent.
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.
11. Children
The Robot Readiness Test is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has used the service, write to support@areyourobotready.org and we will delete the data.
12. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and, where the change is significant, tell you by email.
